A young boy watches his dog disappear through a portal into another dimension. After searching for him, the dog returns with strange symbols on his collar. The boy's father is an alcoholic, unemployed rocket scientist or something; his mother is a depressed, unemployed cosmologist and/or chemist who is hooked on sleeping medications. His older sister is hostile. The boy is harassed by two random bullies and befriended by a local itinerant fisherman who gets intense headaches when near any electronic signals, including those from cell phones. The dog apparently goes through the portal a second time, but it is made clear that it is a portal to another dimension; despite the movie title, the dog never travels through space. The movie concludes with a giant anticlimax. Enjoy.—DMK
A young boy loses his dog to an anomaly in his backyard, a portal which leads to another dimension of our universe. He must rely on his friends and dysfunctional family to get the dog back and close the portal before it creates a rift that might destroy both universes.
