Designer Stella Murphy and contractor Pablo Belmonte are the bickering co-hosts of House Sweet Home, a reality home redecorating renovation show. That bickering extends to off camera, but in a way that only true friends could do. When on Thanksgiving they learn that the homeowners for what was supposed to be their Christmas episode back out, that episode historically their highest rated, Zoe, the show's producer who is always looking for the "hook", especially important with this episode as it is uncertain whether the network will renew the show for next season, is able to convince an initially reluctant Stella and her fiancé Jack Hall not only to be the homeowners for the episode, but also to move their wedding up by several months to be featured at the redecorated house on the home reveal on Christmas Eve. The house itself used to be in Stella's family, it actually built by her great great grandparents one hundred twenty years ago, but was necessarily sold by her grandparents thirty years ago, and has gone into disrepair when Stella recently was able to purchase it, she always wanting to do so in her fond childhood memories in that house. With the cameras rolling for the five weeks, it is uncertain whether Stella, Jack and Pablo as a collective will be able to hold their respective relationships together with the goings-on behind the scenes: as Stella discovers unknowns regarding the house, some good, some not so good and some really bad; as Jack is more preoccupied with promoting his new paint company, Turner + Klee, through this episode as opposed to supporting Stella with this home renovation, Stella somewhat aware that he would much rather live in his modern condo than this house; and as Pablo, in having long held feelings for Stella himself, is unsure if he can work with Stella any longer after the wedding also in knowing that Jack is the wrong person for her.—Huggo |
