On the run, the wounded Lokita is spotted and shot dead by Betim's aid Lukas, but she doesn't give away Tori. Tori hidden in a bush manages to get away. The film ends with Lokita's funeral where Tori delivers the eulogy saying she would be living in Belgium now, working as a assistant as it was her dream, if she had been provided the legal papers.
From two-time Palme d'Or-winners Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, Tori and Lokita is a heart-stopping thriller that casts an unflinching eye on the trials of the young and dispossessed.
