Following the death of her mother, world-famous artist May Malcolm, Izzy Fletcher and her family move out of the city and back to her husband's home town of Clinton, Mississippi. As Izzy tries to move past the loss of her mother, her husband finds himself drawn to their daughter's teacher, Emma. When he tries to end the affair, Emma begins to dress and act like Izzy. Her obsession goes so deep that she kidnaps Izzy's husband and daughter and tries to take Izzy's place. For the first time since her mother's death, Izzy realizes that she truly has a beautiful life that is worth fighting for. She confronts Emma to save her family and gets her life back.
