Fifty years ago on October 21st 1966 a roaring avalanche of coal waste crashed into a school and 18 houses in the south Wales village of Aberfan. Death and destruction were wrought in a few unbelievable minutes. It was a race against time to rescue survivors. 116 children and 28 adults were killed. It is a day everyone who lived through it will always remember. In this film the people of Aberfan tell their stories of tragic loss, miraculous survival and heroic rescue.
